In Person Voting ID Requirements
for the 2026 Elections
Do I need ID to vote?
Yes, you must bring ID to vote in person. IDs must be valid and not expired. Acceptable IDs include:
- Florida Driver License
- Florida Identification Card (issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles)
- U.S. Passport
- Debit or Credit Card
- Military ID
- Student ID
- Retirement Center ID
- Neighborhood Association ID
- Public Assistance ID
- Veteran Health ID (issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)
- A Concealed Weapons/Firearm License (issued pursuant to s.790.06, F.S.)
- Employee ID issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the federal government, the state, a county, or a municipality.
Florida Driver License Changes: What to Know
As of July 1, 2024, new Florida Driver License or state ID cards are issued new numbers.
Why is that important?
Your driver license is one of they ways we verify voters when they vote in person, by mail or submit a petition.
What should you do?
When renewing or updating your driver license, select the option to update your voter record. When you do that, your voter record will be updated with your new number.
